Oxaliplatin, also known as oxalate platin and Loxadine, is a new platinum derivative. It is a stereoisomer, which inhibits DNA synthesis and replication by producing alkylation conjugate and acting on DNA to form intra-chain and inter-chain crosslinking. After cisplatin and carboplatin, is the third generation of new platinum-based anti-tumor compounds. It is mainly used clinically for patients with colorectal cancer metastasis after treatment failure by fluorouracil. It can be used alone or in combination with fluorouracil, and it is the only complexplatin drug with significant activity against colorectal cancer so far.

Oxaliplatin, also called Eloxatin or Eloxatine, is a platinum derivative.
Used clinically to treat patients with metastatic colorectal cancer after failure of fluorouracil treatment, can be used alone or in combination with 5-fluorouracil. It is the third-generation platinum antitumor compound after cisplatin and carboplatin, and so far the only platinum-based drug with significant effectiveness against colorectal cancer. It also inhibits proliferation of ovarian cancer and melanoma cell lines.
