Cepharanthine is an alkaloid extracted from Stephania cephalum and Dibron of the fangchiaceae plant.It has the functions of anti-tumor, anti-malaria, bacteriostasis and regulating immune function. Modern studies suggest that it also has the functions of stimulating reticuloendothelial system, activating hematopoietic tissue and promoting bone marrow hyperplasia.
