1. For Arthralgia caused by wind-dampness, with redness, edema and hot pain of joints, it is often used with coix seed (Semen Coicis) and tale (Talcum); for arthralgia caused by wind-cold-dampness, the herb is used with ledebouriella root, pubescent angelica root and aconite root (Radix Aconiti).
2. For edema caused by wind-dampness, difficult urination, diaphoresis and aversion of wind, it is often used in combination with astragalus root (Radix Astragali seu Hedysari) to dispel the wind, reinforce the Qi and alleviate edema.
1.It has anti-inflammatory, immunologic and antiallergenic effects. It inhibits the degranulation of mast cells.
2.It has vasodilatory properties and can therefore reduce blood pressure.
3.Tetrandrine may have potential use for the treatment of liver disease and liver cancer.
4..Tetrandrine has potential therapeutic value to prevent excess scarring/fibrosis in conjunctiva following trabeculectomy or in patients with severe conjunctival inflammation.
5.Tetrandrine has anti-inflammatory and anti-fibrogenic actions,which make tetrandrine and related compounds potentially useful in the treatmentof lung silicosis,liver cirrhosis, and rheumatoid arthritis.
