Product Description

Streptomycin sulfate is a sulfate form of streptomycin, an antibiotic produced by streptococcus grey-streptomycin, a type of actinomycetes found in soil. Streptomycin was the first chemotherapy drug with definite efficacy against tuberculosis. This product must be injected by muscle, so its long-term application is limited. Streptomycin is the most effective and least toxic antibiotic obtained from Streptomyces for use outside the gastrointestinal tract. This product is fungicide, may be its direct effect on the bacterial ribosome, inhibit protein synthesis and effect, mainly acting on extracellular (including cavitation) tuberculosis bacillus.

Streptomycin sulphate of n/med tuberculosis bacili have strong antibacterial effect, for most gram-positive cocci (such as all kinds of streptococcus pneumoniae) and bacillus (e.g., pseudomonas aeruginosa, anaerobic bacteria) antibacterial effect is not strong, for many gram-negative bacilli has strong antimicrobial effect, tuberculosis is effective to all kinds of skin, inhibiting the bacteria and toxins produced by function, high concentration (> 0.4 mu g/mL) have antiseptic effect.
