It has various effects on cultured mammalian cells including inhibition of proliferation, induction of differentiation and induction or repression of gene expre Sodium Butyrate is an inhibitor of histone deacetylase activity (HDAC) resulting in improvement of physiological disorders such as Duchenne muscular dystropy.
