LOCUST BEAN GUM is a natural product commonly used to replace West Huangqi gum or other similar gums. Cape bean glue is slightly sticky than West Huangqi glue, and is made by boiling Cape bean glue powder in water at a ratio of 1.0-1.5%. As a viscosity enhancer, carrageenan is said to have five times the effect of starch and twice the effect of astragalus gum. Cape bean gum is also used as a tablet adhesive and is approved for use in oral controlled release systems in the United States and Europe. Cape bean gum is widely used as an adhesive, tackifier, and stabilizer in the cosmetics and food industries. The concentration used in food is 0.15~0.75%.
