It is indicated as an adjunct to a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity for chronic weight management in adult patients with an initial body mass index (BMI) of: 30 kg/sq m or greater (obese), or 27 kg/sq m or greater (overweight) in the presence of at least one weight related comorbid conditionLorcaseri is used to help adults who are obese or who are overweight and have weight-related medical problems to lose weight and keep from gaining back that weight. Lorcaseri must be used along with a reduced calorie diet and an exercise plan. Lorcaseri is in a class of medications called serotonin receptor agonists. It works by increasing feelings of fullness so that less food is eaten.
